The WI plays a unique role in providing women with educational opportunities and the chance to build new skills, to take part in a wide variety of activities and to campaign on issues that matter to them and their communities.
Shareshill W.I. enjoys a wide range of activities and as well as our regular monthly meetings, we currently have a wide variety of clubs: a very successful darts team, walking club and an active craft class, and are always looking to expand our activities. So if you are looking for friendship and looking for fun then come along and join us at Shareshill WI.
We meet on the third Thursday of each month at Shareshill Village Hall at 7.45pm. Visitors welcome; we look forward to seeing you.

36 Members and friends of Shareshill WI had a wonderful trip on the Northern Belle (Orient Express) at the end of May, almost filling the carriage called Chatsworth. Leaving Birmingham International Station at 6.00 am we journeyed to Northumberland enjoying a superb Brunch with Bellini on the way.
We then spent 4 hours under cloudlesss blue skies exploring the Castle and glorious Gardens at Alnwick Castle - home of the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland - returning to the train in time to enjoy a sumptuous 5 course dinner with champagne and wine, served by the lovely Emma and her cheerful colleagues. A truly fabulous day out thanks to members Sue Perks and Lynn Ruffelle for organising the trip and Rose Lynk and Cheryl Millward for arranging transport to get us to Birmingham international at the crack of dawn!!
Our local Member of Parliament the Rt Hon Gavin Williamson came to our meeting in July 2016 and gave us a very informative, entertaining and amusing account of his time in Westminster as a Parliamentary Private Secretary - for the last three years in the service of the Prime Minister.
Gavin was very happy to answer members questions and took part in our social time when photographs were taken of members entries for WI's National competition of "Hanging Braskets" ending the evening on a very happy note.
Gavin is now the government's Chief Whip.
|Shareshill W.I.'s Nativity with a Difference
On 8th December 2016 we presented a "Nativity with a Difference" at Shareshill Church.
It was a lovely occasion - standing room only at the Church and a very appreciative audience. Thanks to Sue Davidson whose idea it was - for guiding us, bullying us and making sure we got it right on the night.
Thank you to the cast (so many hidden talents here - Judy as Angel Gabriel and Chrissie as King Herod to mention a couple!). Thank you to the cast (so many hidden talents here - Judy as Angel Gabriel and Chrissie as King Herod to mention a couple!). Thank you Rev. Sara for your hospitality, help and tolerance at our rehearsals and on the night itself; and also a big thank you to Ann, John and Cheryl for organising refreshments and everyone who supported us making it a night to remember.
Our November 2016 meeting had members making Christmas wreaths under the instruction and guidance of Ann Legg
25th August 2016 saw 48 walk 2-5 miles over Cannock Chase from the Glacier Boulder to the Punch Bowl car park. Then ended the evening with a meal at the Greyhound at Burston lovely evening had by all. They looked a bit lost until they found the pub!
