The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Celebrations

Concert in the Park Sat 2nd June, 2012

This well-organised event was a tremendous success despite the weather being cold and damp.

The was a "Last Night of the Proms" atmosphere as the choir and audience sang Land of Hope and Glory, Rule Britannia (soloist Beth Peach-Robinson) and later, the National Anthem

The evening finished with a fabulous fireworks display followed by the lighting of the
beacon and the National Anthem.

Shareshill Exhibition Sat 2nd June, 2012
Shareshill Women's Institute put on a fantastic exhibition of old photographs of Shareshill and its people past and present.
It caused a great deal of reminiscing among older residents and showed younger ones much of the village's history.

On Friday 8th June 2012 a crowded-beyond-capacity Village Hall was treated to a video which showed how the village has developed during the last 60 years. John Parton, the brains behind the project, combined old photographs with contemporary video footage, comparing then and now.
