The weather forecast for this year turned out to be accurate: sunny with a few brief showers. These did not dampen the atmosphere and did boost refreshment sales in the village hall! | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() |

The photo on the right is the 1926 Avelling Steam Roller which came this year. Unfortunately it had to stay on the car park because the grass was too wet for it. For technical reasons (the webmaster forgot to photograph it this year!) so here's a photo of it from the 2007 event. Below are pictures of two of the scale model engines. |

Jim's Swing Band gave a brilliant performance of a range of favourites, including many Glen Miller pieces. They put us in the mood (apologies for the pun) for a fun afternoon. | ![]() |
The inter-pub tug of war proved popular. The Men's event was won by The Elms whilst the Red, White and Blue won the ladies' event by defeating the team from Calf Heath Marina. Pictures of the ladies' teams bending over were not considered appropriate for this website. (Oh OK, I forgot to take any!) | ||

![]() The children's quad bikes proved a popular attraction. |
Other attractions not shown included: Lichfield and District Dog Training Society's Dog Agility and Fly Ball display (I was too busy marshalling exhibition vehicles on to the site to take pictures of them!). We were also treated to displays by: Cannock Corps of Drums, the children's school of dance, our local primary schools and cheer leaders. (These were not photographed for the website for child protection reasons.) |
